- Property owners interested in serving on their association board
- Community association managers who want to better understand board member requirements
- Anyone interested in community association governance
Certification Information
Under Florida law, newly elected or appointed board members must either:
- Certify in writing that they have read the association’s declaration of condominium, articles of incorporation, bylaws, and current written policies; that they will work to uphold such documents and policies to the best of their ability; and that they will faithfully discharge their fiduciary responsibility to the association’s members; OR
- Complete a DBPR-approved educational certification course.
This course satisfies the second option and provides a more comprehensive understanding of your responsibilities than simply reading the documents. Upon completion, you’ll receive a certificate that you can provide to your association as proof of your certification.
